Ok, this is probably going to sound a little stupid:duh: but...
When reading your test results on an AP liquid test, do you hold the tube right against the card or slightly in front of it?

I emailed AP and asked them but no response....
I think it explained it in the instructions but those are long gone...
Thanks!

i think i rememberit saying to hold slightly in front.. but i dont remember for sure.. and my instructions are long gone as well.

i hold mine against the white card. i think thats what you're supposed to do? the color comes out a lot better that way too.

I usually hold it against the card. However depending on the lighting in some rooms, you have to be careful as this can affect the turn out of your reading...

You know, it seems to me that the directions said to hold it slightly away from the card to allow the light to pass through....but it's been so long since I actually read the directions...

This is what is says in the API Master Kit instruction booklet.....

The tube should be viewed against the white area beside the color chart.

If you hold it touching the card, the results will not be correct. There needs to me some light passing through all directions of the tube to get a perfect reading, the card will make the tube "darker" because it blocks out light. I hold mine 1/2 - 1" away from the card..

Exactly! That's what I've always done but then I started second guessing myself....
