Question about C02

A lot of the experts say it is not true that C02 drives oxygen out of the water, like if you have a C02 injector. So what about the opposite? Will running an airstone drive out C02? Or will the 2 gases both just stay?

Surface agitation will drive off co2, so ifyou want to keep co2 in your water avoid that, if you want to lower your co2, increase surface agitation via raising your spray bar, lowering your water level to cause more splash, or adding an airstone.

Once I panicked when my diy co2 got to 32 ppm, and I just raised my spray bar for a few hours.

So a fine mist airstone can be run with C02 injection as long as it's not turned up high enough to cause a lot of surface agitation?

I had same question.
i was advised against it. there are much better ways to disslove co2. just do a search in the DIY section..
anyhoo.. what is your set up like... :)

No, I don't mean running airstone with C02, I have C02 going right into my intake on filter. I'm wondering if it's ok to run an airstone with oxygen and have C02 going at same time. Will the oygen drive out C02?

The oxygen won't, but the surface agitation from the airstone will. Airstones and Co2 don't jive well together.
