I have a 29 gallon eclipse saltwater tank and am looking for a protein skimmer, my tank came with the eclipse hood with light and filter. Any suggestions on skimmers that will fit. any advice would be great. thanks

I noticed i need some amendments

1st I only have about 5 inches behind the tank. 2nd I would rather not have airstones and right now I am on a tight budget, I was thinking about a Prizm but, after what you guys said its off the list.

I also have an eclipse and a tight budget. From what I have seen, most skimmers will not work with the eclipse top. I am planning on getting the CPR bakpak and getting rid of the eclipse top when I get the skimmer. I have measured it and 5 inches between the tank and the wall should be plenty with this skimmer. I found this skimmer at petsolutions.com for about 129.00. If you can sell the eclipse top, that should cover a good chunk of the skimmer.

I just bought a coralife Superskimmer from bigalsonline.com. it has the needlewheel technology which seems to work well. I have only had it for a week but it seems to be working great. You can use it in sump or hang on the back. Mine was rated for 125 gal and cost $127. Some sites had it for over $200. There is one for 65g that is cheaper. The only problem was it was hard to get adjusted. but that might be normal I am not sure. I am new to this, so take it for what its worth
