Question fw fish and koi

why don't you at least spend $20 bucks on a couple 20g tubs and another 25-30 on a couple cheap filters? that way you only have 2-3 koi in each one, and any filters you buy will be used in the future or as backup in case you ever need one for an emergency. seriously, there are many more options than what you are doing now.

ok people, this is my life. my parents Dont approve me to have any more tanks OK?! I have already gotten yelled at for having 2 OK?! they is no place for me to keep them I KNOW! MY friends cant take them becasue he only has a 40 gallon. Shadow, if you are denying their advice, why did you ask us in the first place?:) I would like to make it clear to you that not only did these members spend a few minutes posting their advice as best as possible for you but they are compassionate with the fish to say the least. I can't believe you are trying to deny the advice given to you. They were only doing what is best for you and your fish.

Might I make it clearer to you that you have plenty other fish to choose. Why choose the koi if you don't have a proper housing for them at the moment?

then why are you asking? you should really just listen to your parents and keep your hobby under control until you are able to move out and do your own thing. raising a creature from a young age is not a rationalization for improper treatment and neglect. finding a better home for your fish is the responsible thing to do.

my only question was if i can pt them in the 50 gallon
Okay, to clarify matters once and for all, you can for a month which is about the max I would do for seven in a 50g but you must be willing to do almost daily water changes until a pond is set up for them. Check your water parameters daily while feeding once a day and do water changes, should you detect your ammonia and nitrites above 0.25 with nitrates above 40 ppm.

Do remember koi are nevertheless very heavy waste producers and will constantly forage the bottom for food. To make maintenance easier, keep the tank barebottom. Keep the other fish away from your koi.

Edit: And to settle matters, if you have no other tanks to place the sharks and algae eaters, consider selling them. There is no point trying to mix them with kois when their requirements are very different. You meet demand of one fish, the other suffers.

I'm sure that all the people here where just trying to be helpful and trying to make it better for you and your fishies. If you can definetly build a large pond in a month (meaning 1600+ gallons) then you keep them. I would move the koi into the 50 gallon and the sharks/gouramis into the 20 gallon or give them to someone else (depending on size/species) until the koi go into the 1600+ gallon pond. Make sure to do water changes everyday, get more filters, and cut back on feeding.

I have edited my post just to finally settle the matter. Please do follow what is expected from you by other members and there won't be any more arguments about which fish to replace, etc.:)
