My Grandmother's Betta brought this question about...
"Sam" the betta is very close to three years old. I'm sure he's older than that but three years is how long she's had him. Anywho, his appearance is what concerns me. I've only had two other bettas live anywhere close to three years. Neither grew to the enormous size that Sam has reached. He is nearly 4.5in. from nose to tail. And no, not all of that is tail. His size is not all that is interesting. His colors have naturally(AGE) lost their luster and he has developed a rough or "bumpy" appearance. I recall that the two bettas I had also developed this bumpy texture. However, this is so pronouced on Sam that I became curious as to what cuased this dramatic change. He has had this for well over a year. I thought perhaps the bumps were small tumors at first.
What do you think? Has anyone else ever observed this?
Thanks!
