I am wondering if any of you with an Eclipse 12 has tried other media in the filter besides the charcoal/sponge insert. I would like to place some purigen in there (in a bag) and thought I would see if anyone has tried something similar.
On another note, I notice when I take the lid off, water does not cover the charcoal/sponge insert int he filter. It (water) seems to be high at the entry point of the filter and then trickles down to the bio-wheel. It looks like water never touches many parts of the sponge. Is this normal?
