Hello--I am a newbie as far as live plants are concerned. My 150 gallon tank does not currently have a top. My lighting consists of 4 incandescant "floodlight" type of bulbs that are clamped to the top of the tank. These bulbs are normally used for house plants. Each bulb is 65 Watts. These are plantlight bulbs that were purchased at Walmart. Do these type of bulbs do the same as the normal flourescent bulbs that are purchased in aquarium stores? Will they do the same for live plants as those bulbs?

Also, I am planning in the near future to purchase a glass canopy type cover for the tank. Will that glass diminish the benefits of the bulbs?

Thanks in advance for any help.

David

No, I do not have the original packaging that the bulbs came in. When I get back to Walmart, I will check it out.
