I added my new hogchoker (sometimes called "freshwater" flounder) to my 29 gallon brackish water tank 4 days ago. Yesterday I tried to feed him for the first time. Before lights out, I fed it about half a teaspoon of thawed frozen bloodworm through a turkey baster. This morning I noticed that most of the bloodworm wasn't even touched, so I removed the uneaten food.
Right now, I think that my tank is in good condition after testing it this morning. The water has zero ammonia, zero nitrites and a small amount of nitrates. The salinity level is close to 1.005
Does anyone here have any experience keeping hogchokers? Is there anything wrong with the way I'm feeding it or keeping it? Anyone have any tips or foods that work well on hogchokers?
Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.
