I purchase 4 baby flowerhorns BEFORE doing my research. I foolishly listened to employees from a petshop. :( I loved the flowerhorns. I have them in a 55 gallon tank, with two very large gold severums, a couple of clown loaches, and a red tailed shark. The more I am reading is that the flowerhorns will become very aggressive. Will they eventually turn on their tankmates? Since they are so young, could they become used to their tankmates and leave them alone? If I have to return them, I want to do it now before I get to attached to them. Thanks so much.

thats pretty small for 4 flowerhorns they will probally kill off your fish in a lil bit and wont let your other fish eat but dpends how big they are btw its up to u

They are more territorial than aggressive. there is a very slight chance that you might have 1 passive one, but more it's more likely that 1 FH will become dominant and claim the entire tank for itself.

Two male flowerhorns will fight to the death. And flowerhorns in general are very aggressive towards each other. So, not only are the other fish in danger....so are the flowerhorns.

I don't think it will work for too long, but Good luck....

Thanks so much for all the responses on the flowerhorns. Today, I found a good home for the four baby flowerhorns. I explained to their new owner how I got them, and what to expect as they grow older. She has no problem taking on the responsibilities of owning flowerhorns. She has several empty tanks where they can be housed safely. I only wish I would have found this forum earlier and I would not have made such a serious mistake by listening to salespeople in the petshop. I learned I should not buy right away without doing my own research. Thanks again and happy holidays!
