quick pic....

haha. i have a few people in line.
im thinking of making some because they do grow super fast, they jsut have no where else to grow....

Fishy,
pay attention over the next 2 weeks at micro algea growth vs. coralline growth. If micro is increasing change the phos resin and add carbon. A new halide upgrade can affect the balance and take advantage of low nutrients the other lights were not utilizing.

Also, your new bulb should begin to color up your corals over the next 2 weeks also. Your mag, and calcium may also be affected by a growth spurt so just monitor everything closely.

Otherwise the tank is going to really look good in the coming weeks as everything adjusts to the new light. When I upgraded to the 400w lamps on the prop tubs things colored up amazingly fast! The same thing happened on my 250w MH's when I went to 12k lamps. I will be changing my lamps again in May cause my 12k's were about 4 months old and now they are about 7 months old. Make sure you leave a note to yourself on what day you installed the bulb so you know when to change it back out.

HTH, Rich

yup
ive been checking my levels a lot. my ALK is now about right while my Ca is pretty low, which is strange because ive been having trouble keeping up with both my ALK and Ca demand with twopart.
i also have noticed a bit of algae growth, which i thought was a little strange because i just replaced phosban a few weeks ago and carbon not too long ago... was thinking of doing it again today. i just did a 6 gallon (15%) watter change and will be doing another 5 later today.
the only thing right now that doesnt seem thrilled is my rainbow monti which is worrying me. under the actinics and/or halide, it looks like a nice blue (as does everything else), but when i looked in with a flashlight last night, i saw that there was a good amount of white  im going to see if water changes help that, and if not, ill have to break it off of the rock it is on and move it down lower like i had to do with my superman when i upgraded to 250s.
but thanks for the heads up!

omg! those are great pics! there so bright im actually seeing bright splotches and stuff like that when i look into the dark. very nice tank man.
