Quick!! What plecos stay small?

My LFS is having a 50% off sale tomarrow. What plecos stay within 4-6" range? Rubber lipped, bristle nose, zebra Correct? thanks

Yes, rubber lipped, bristlenose, zebra and clown. The clowns need wood to eat.

That's what I thought too but then again, I prefer buying zebra plecos only if I plan to breed them. Imports of wild-caught specimens from Brazil I believe. May be worth your time looking over this site.

why not look into an ancistrus, which is basically a miniature pleco. i have an albino ancistrus and they are awesome!

Bristlenose are the best option for algae, IMO and hit that target size range perfectly.

be warned that male Ancistrus are somewhat aggressive in competing for food though- I've got a male and two females, the females are fine but the male is extremely unpleasant with other fish competing for food.
