Well I picked up a new tetra whisper and the pump is very quiet. It's a 10-30 model. I can't hear it over the bubbles coming out of the end diffuser stone. I guess I just like to look at my tank and not hear it, but with my new fish needing extra aeration that won't happen. Back when I lived at home I had 6 tanks all w/ bubblers going so I'm sure I'll get used to it again.
