Now, i'm sure everyone here has had a fish that ends up having a unique personality quirk.

I figure it would be amusing to read some other people's stories on the subject.

Today, I discovered that my betta absolutely hates water drops running down the side of the tank. He chases them to the bottem, sometimes trying to nip at them. It's hillarious, especially if you drip a few down the side.. it's like it overloads his brain and he just gets really agitated :p

I had a 20 gallon long 30''x12''x12'' sitting on an old dresser 30''x18'' one day my cat got up there and pawed the tank glass. This annoyed the occupant of the tank a 10'' bichir who flared it gill covers an charged the cat.
The cat went 4 1/2 feet backwards hitting the bed or he would have gone farther for months the cat avioded the tank -Anne

Haha, cats and tanks.. never will forget the day that my cat tried to jump ontop of the family's 40g tank in the living room during a water change.. she sunk right to the gravel and was pawing the glass trying to get out.

That being said, she didn't go ontop of the tank anymore.

my kitty just sits by the tank, she doesn't even notice the betta threatening her.

My 5g tank is next to a mirror on my dresser, and the betta i used to have sat there at night, when i was in bed threatening his reflection all the time. Very silly.

20 years ago I had an oscar in a 55 gal. that loved ping pong balls. I'd open the top and toss a ball in. She'd knock it back out. She would play for hours if I would. If I quit she'd swim up and down the front glass doing the "feed me" dance trying to get me to keep playing.

My largest goldfish, Munch, learned to suck on the glass in the top corner of the tank near the water line ... makes a popping sound that is like a marble or large piece of gravel smacking against the side of the tank.

He's only figured out how to do it once or twice in his new tank, but you could hear him all the way in the kitchen.

One of my older Dalmation mollys has learned how to corral all the other fish into the corner of the tank. He will do this and keep them there for about 10 minutes before his attention is directed elsewhere.

I had a green tiger barb who liked to be "petted." Ya' I know slime coat could be harmed, but no, he would get really fired up if I pulled my finger out before he was done. I wonder if he itched? hmmm...

some of m pleco's like floating on the top of the tank upsidedown and pretend they are dead, you open the lid and they splash you with water in a mad dash to the back wall of the tank...Makes it easy feedin them Spuds and other things,

just the other day i was feeding my baby oscar spike hes about 2.5 inches now. anyway i have him trained to eat from my fingers and for some reason i wanted to watch him/her suck pellets from the surface. so i leaned over the water and i knew what was comming but i didnt move and spike sure enough vertically positioned himself and jumped out of the water and tried to nip my nose...lol
