Well, I just couldn't wait to do it.
So I hooked a couple up while they were at lunch. I hide one under the home fashion designer's chair, inside the swivel part connects to the seat. Then another inside his receipt printer (they lazy ones kinda hide over in his area where they are less visible to customers). After about half hour of listening to 2 of them, I removed the one from the chair. Figured, since he knows nothing about computers, if he does locate where the noise is coming from I can have him keep rebooting printer, computer, signature capture device, etc...
Then once I exhaust those, have him shut the whole system down, he'll go nuts when it still goes off.
God I can't wait for tomorrow....
If he still can't figure it out, I'll hide another Annoy-a-tron in one of the hundred or so wallpaper books.

I guess you might be able to rig the store's PA system to play it at the end of your last day. Schedule the task on a PC hooked into the PA using the appropriate mp3 file as the target.

Well, we started off good, but I didn't figure that one of the employees is a little older then the rest of us. When I turned it on I placed it on the higher pitch sound and he couldn't hear it ,saying we were all crazy since he heard nothing.
So as I was "helping" eliminating possible sources of this irritating beep I hide a second one with it alternating the higher and lower (but still high) pitched beeps. I also picked up the original one for placement later this week. Now everyone can hear atleast one of the beeps...
So far we have possibly eliminated the home fashions work cell phone, the thermostat, the sound system, the printer, the signature capture device, and the monitor. Rebooting the computer also didn't make it stop. hmmmm...
So far other possibilities that have been mentioned are the outlets under the desk, maybe the computer, a smoke or carbon monoxide detector in the basement (there isn't one), the phone/data jack.....
Its actually hidden under the plastic telescopic sleeve on the office chair that hides the cylinder that raises/lowers the seat....but tomorrow it will be somewhere else....:devil:
