rainbow shark and red bellied pacu

i have a rainbow shark that is almost 2"....and today i bought 2 1" red bellied pacu.....and now my shark is chasing them around.....y is this???......will my shark learn to get along and/or will my pacu learn to fight back?

HELP VERY MUCH NEEDED! :sad

I'm not sure what possessed you to buy two red bellied pacus,,those fish will be over 6 inches in a year and will continue to grow and can get over two feet long. I think your tank is a little small for that.
 
yes i no that...but the LFS owner said that he will buy it back once they get bigger.....or i might put it in my cousin's 55g until they outgrow that
 
When the Pacu's get big enough, the shark will most likley stop chasing them. Or he may become lunch! Snitz was right in asking why you put Pacu's in such a small tank. They get freaking HUGE. My pacu started in a 50 Gallon tank and outgrew that. I now have him in a 165.71 gallon. And he just continues to become massive.

The other bad thing about the Pacu's is, they will eat almost EVERYTHING you put in your tank. After being together with my 7 inch red crayfish for over a year, my Pacu decided to eat him one morning. Anything I add to the tank gets eaten by the Pacu. Kinda sucks to have a tank that you can't add any fish too.

But in their defence, they are cool fish. You just need to look into getting a bigger tank. Good luck.
 
your pacus will get huge i had 2 ofthem and my 150 wasnt big enough for them they need something like a pond i think mine were the size of dinner plates when i gave them up to my lfs i couldnt handle the splashing when it was feeding time and they take up sooooooo much space plus when they get scared they will hit the glass
