yes..they do eat their eggs..if they get stressed or has fungus on eggs.. i have a pair of Ram too...their 1st spawn was unsuccessful..they eaten their eggs by night..in the morning.all the eggs were gone... like your pair my pair too laid their eggs on driftwood.. but here's important advise... if you want the eggs to hatch and do a successful spawn....provide them a rock which has a flat surface like a pebble, because driftwood is a colony of beneficial bacteria..and when they lay their eggs on driftwood, no matter how caring they are, the bacteria on driftwood will probably attack on the eggs.. this has happened with me.. when they laid their eggs on driftwood for the 2nd time....i was happy that they didn't eat their eggs..but after 2 days..i started to notice that eggs are looking like they are dieing...when i noticed on third day..the parents were not protecting the eggs..cause bacteria were consuming the eggs slowly slowly.. i may be wrong..just saying from experience..
