We picked up some ghost shrimps (Palaemonetes sp.) and put them into RCS tank. These ghostys are huge. (About 2x of matured RCS) We have lots of baby RCSs which are really tiny and cute. I just want to make new giant ghostys are going to be peaceful mates with our tiny cute baby RCSs. Otherwise, I am going to move them to other tank.

:help: Please, share your experience and knowledge.

Let me kow how you catch them. LOL I have Ghosties and I just put my 20 new RCS in my 55 with them and my corys and rasboras. I dumped them in and they all scattered into the plants. (I have lots of plants) I saw a bunch of them on the sponge filter this morning snacking so, so far so good. The rasboras kinda of charged at them at first but I fed the fish to distract them and they seemed to have forgotten all about the shrimp. The ghosties don't seem to see the CRS even when they run right over them. I am hoping that there is enough activity and food in the tank that everyone is going to be happy and safe.

Currently our shrimp tank is heavily planted 20G.
The followings are the current mates.

at least ~20 fully matured RCS
20+ tiny cute RCS baby (Some of them is really small and hard to identify)
~20 very small guppy fries
3 Albino Corys
5 New giant ghost shrimps (Palaemonetes sp.)

All the above except ghosty are living together with peace and RCS population start growing. I hope those might giant ghostys is not going to eat baby RCS as their breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Thank you very much as always, msjinkzd !!! :thm:

I've been worried because I could not locate many RCS babies in the morning. Usually I can see 20+ easily within couple of minutes. But, today I only can see about 5 babies for 5+ minutes. I'd better move all ghosty to other tank as soon as I get back to home. I hope all the RCS babies can survive until then.

Ghost shrimp have been known to eat RCS, but I think of it more as a gamble than a certainty.

I've had ghost shrimp eat newly born guppy fry :(.

I had wild Neocaridina in a community tank with several ghost shrimp (1 large female and a bunch of juvies). While I had a couple of baby ghost shrimp survive out of each brood, (there are fish in the tank), I did not see any baby Neos until I moved them to a separate 5g tank. Now I'm seeing shrimplets. I think the juvenile ghost shrimp were preying on the juvie Neos. You might want to keep them separate unless you have a ton of RCS.
