ok so i'm redesignin my oscar tank and i need soem ideas bcoz i'm not sure what to get..
i want drift wood and things like that but i'm not 100% sure wat i can n can't get due to my oscar being a ****** and pulling up everything!!
she even attacks the air tubing for her air stone so plants r a no go..if anyone has any ideas or pictures i'm open to any ideas!!!!!
:help: i'm quite bad at comin up with my own ideas..lolz..

also how do u tell if an oscar is a male or a female? cos i've been told so many diff ways and i'm confused..also can a jag and a clown knife go together? and what size tank would i need?

There is no way you can determine the oscars' sexes unless they spawn wherein you observed the difference between the appearance of their ovipositors. As for clown knife, you are looking for a tank with a length of 8 feet. Yes, these fish grow very big for most home aquaria unfortunately.
 
For decor....large rocks firmly positioned on the bottom of the tank, not on the substrate and the same for driftwood. You probably do not need the airline...
 
cool thanx..thats pretty much what i was thinkin of gettin but i want the airline still..is there any plants that can be put in an oscar tank for a bit of colour? or any thing else to make it look a bit more natural? not that rocks and driftwood aren't natural but..u know can be a bit borin at times!

Try Java ferns. I won't be surprised if it manages to damage the plant as it does have the tendency to destroy most of the plants.
 
Floating some hornwort at the top of the tank makes for a nice display. I wouldn't count on much else working, unless you don't mind it becoming a play toy.
