Read what a person writes before responding

For me that is an advantage. No one path may be right. We all see the premise in different lights and rely on out experience to dictate our response.

Each tank is different, with many variables. What works for one, does not work for all.

Good point rbishop. Very true.

What about bots :joke:?
Could we? :D

The idea behind a thread is so everyone can give their "own" experience on the issue at hand and offer a "potential" solution. Niko

Agreed... and do it without sounding obtuse. That is to say, put it in a way you would like to have someone say it to you... imagine you are in a group discussion face to face.

This would be easier done if we could hear the tone of voice. So..we could all benefit at not putting our percieved tone into a thread when it is not known how the poster states what they say., and responding instead of reacting on a positive note.

same here, I like to hear a lot of different things when im wondering about something. It allows me to not only see the information, but get opinions from personal experiences, and based on literally thousands (sometimes) of different factors, i am able to make my own judgement as to how to go about handling the situation currently at hand.

I never just follow one single persons advice because it seems better than the rest, I make my own judgements based on ALL of the information given.

I dont think anybody should just be following a single persons advice, unless everyone else agrees with what that person has said. otherwise your just being close minded, and your not asking for help, your asking for justification with what you already know your going to do anyway.

I actually read peoples words as I would say them, and often times go over what someone has written repeating it in my head with various "tones of voice" to see how many ways it could be taken, and to try and imagine how the person might have been saying it.

am I crazy? like Howard Huges. "you got something on your lapel bill"

I'm glad this thread has made everyone laugh about it, cause it should never get to the point where people are getting attacked or being rude.
I'm gonna direct this at Fishfry.
I followed the thread that ingited you to start this one. Was it not you who got on the cocky side, and in light terms put your fists up?

Just a reminder! It is all opinions or hands on experience around here and no one especially you, a FORMER AC member whom has rejoined for unknown reasons should blatently throw threats around. Especially the fact that you do not have a reef aquarium. But chalk it up to experience...which you have in other area's(FW). I can almost say a Monkey would have made sense of all the posts in the above thread cause they basically said the same thing.

So I'm glad you decided to post this thread to give me a chance to say what I needed to say without making that thread more off topic than it had already gotten.

JUST MY OPINION/EXPERIENCE that I got out of this...Read into it as you wish.

Thanks
Brandy
