Really small filters for small tanks

i've kept bettas for 15 years and i've never kept them in anything bigger than a 1.5 gallon bowl with no filtration and no heater, and i do a 100% water change once a week and i've had bettas live for 4-5 years, which is an average life span for a betta

That's what my mom does, it seems to work for her.

For a filter, maybe an Aquaclear Mini?

okay,

Just an update, I now have a very small filter for my tank. Simon (the show pony siamese) doesn't seem to be phased at all. The bubbles are quite large but he finds them fascinating and likes to bask in them (maybe he thinks it's a day spa for fish??????).

Anyways, apart from trying to attack his own reflection he seems to be enjoying his new airated tank.

Thanks for all your advice!

I actually ended up using a very small thin long Carbon / wool filter...I think they're called small world filters or something along those lines.

I'm also getting a small hang on external waterfall filter for my other little tank. My theory is whichever works the best and makes my bettas the happiest is the one I'll use on all the tanks.

Trial and error I guess.
