i'm having trouble finding calcuim in my city

the only thing i can find is calcium Carbonate at the local drug store and i have found it to be very very cloudy when i does my tank

what other product or type of place would i be able to find calcuim?

Thanks

The simplest form of calcium is Preston Driveway De-icer. I have used it (Along with many other aquarists on this site) and am very happy with it. For my 75G, I use 2 tablespoons.

thanks for the replys

i would like to import from greg watson but i dont think my country will let it in

where do you buy Preston Driveway De-icer from?

I bought it from Home Depot here in the states, it is also available in any grocery store. It is the stuff that you use to de-ice your driveway and walkway durinng winter....pure calcium chloride.

oh sorry i should of updated my profile

i'm from a country far far way....i'm all the way down in New Zealand. i hope you guys hear of it before

i will try a home depot style shop this weekend, not fully sure we have that product here.....

evil_elmo, are you sure you need to be dosing extra calcium? If your water's hardness is high enough, sometimes it has plenty of calcium carbonate already in it

CaSO4(gypsum see agriculture supplies))
Ca(NO3)2 if you need a little Ca and need to add NO3
CaCl2 Calcium chloride- deicer, pool calcium hardness increaser, air dyer media, etc,
.......all are much easier to dissolve than CaCO3

Also, SeaChem Eqilibrium will add some(via CaSO4)

You should be able to find gypsum there cheaply.
