Red Claw Crab and new tank questions

My brother will soon be getting a 26gal bow front aquarium. It will be a brackish setup. He came across red claw crabs and thy really interested him. He has heard mixed opinions on wherer or not they have to have access to air?

Also if you have any other ideas for his 26 bow please let me know.

Yes they need sandy or muddy land to burrow in. Most of the various little brackish crabs are that way, if he's interested in keeping small crabs perhaps full salt would be a better option.
