red devil eyes puffed out

Help!
I have a mature red devil and his right eye has swollen alot! he does seem to be able to see from it anymore and it is very swollen.It does seem like he is able to move the eye either. . it looks as though it is covered with a layer of "skin" that is milky in color..

I dont know what I should do about this!? he is a single fish in a 65 gallon tank.

Could he have bumped it on something to make it swell? or is this a disease or ailment? what can i do to fix it?

any advice with meds? solutions etc would be greatly appreciated!!

Could be pop-eye, which is often a water quality issue.

First thing I would suggest is testing your water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, followed by water changes if ammonia/nitrite are present, or if nitrates are above 20 ppm.

If this fails, I would suggest the medication Maracyn 2.
