Red Eyed Tetras

are you talking about the little ones or the big ones? I have the giant Redeye tetras or Niger Tetras and they are vicious.

I didn't know there were more than one type (well except the "balloon" ones I saw at the store..)! Can't find anything on google about giant red eyed tetras so I don't know if they're the ones you have. My biggest female is a little less than 2" and I'm pretty sure she's fully grown because I've had her since January and my friend who gave them to me had her longer than that.

They are called Niger Tetras or Red eye Charachins mostly. They are red eye tetras but are just so massive. Mine range between 3inches to 4 and a half. They will eat crickets :O! I wish I could get a picture they just move so fast and my camera sucks. I just need to take 45 pictures and siphon out a few good pics some time too show.

Ooh, I see. I hope you can get some pics some day, they'd be cool to see!

Fishboss he was talking about the tetras with his betta. Not pirahnas

yeah, i noticed just now, my bad:)...........i misread:)

They're afraid of the Keyhole, probably because he's so big.
@rneiswander: she* and I think he knows, lol.
@Smitty: I took some pictures yesterday, I'll upload them after work today.

I didn't know, i misread..............lol
Idk how I could be so stupid, nobody puts piranhas in with tetras/bettas, etc.

I have a half dozen of them that I'm not crazy about. They're usually off by themselves hovering or acting weird.. The serpaes are the opposite, zipping all over the tank in a tight school.

Those are some nice pictures!! Mine move around too much, all I get are blurs.

It all depends on the personality, mine were like jannikas and were always hiding or not moving as if it were night time.

Mine sit still only if you aren't watching them. Once they see you, they start zipping around the tank.

my serpae tetras behave like pihranas when i put in small peices of cooked meat

it is interesting to watch since you get big fish attitude with little fish size
