Hi everyone, My Red Oscar seems stressed out. She barely eats, seems a luttle dull colored, and she sits at the bottom of the tank. It looks like deppression =( I have her for almost a year w/ an albino oscar i just recently moved them down from LA maybe about 6 weeks ago. She seemed to be fine before except for her apetite. Any suggestions on how to perk her up? Anyone think that it might be water conditions. Im running a wet/dry filter also i just added a black backing that has a slight reflection, anyone think its her reflection that has got her down?
thank you for anyones time and input.

check you water...how often do you do water changes..and what size tank is she/he in?
it may be that they are gettingsome secondary infection from the stress of moving.

what should i check for? i have Nitrate test and Ammonia test. I havent done a water change yet. The water here irvine is kinda on the hard side. Any type of softner i used though didnt help. It is a 60 gallon. I used amquel and conditioner made by amquel for gettint he water ready. thx O-man21

Try about a 50% water change...
Keep the water temps close to the same..

it might have parrasites

when my oscr got sick it wouldnt eat the same symptoms as u and i treated it with braoud spectrum and it was fine in a week but keep on with the treatment for 20 days to kill all the newly hatched eggs to prevent a new infestation

Dragon-

When you say broad spectrum what are you talking about exactly? Im gonna do the water change and turn up the temp to a luttle over 80 its at 77 at the moment.

WOAh! When i went to do the water change, the surface of the side with the return pool had a lot of white growth on it. It was alos somewhat oily looking. Im not sure if its worms, it looked almost like fine white powerd sprinkled over the top. I removed the layer as best as i could by dumping some water and using a net. I did the water change. What is that growth? Do I need to medicate?

broad spectrum

broad spectrum is a medication for fish it treats fungal, paracities hithd(not very well i add)whit spot, finnrot almost every disease use 25/30 per 20 L in stead of 20 m it work better it works for me and if u feed your oscar fedders like i do treat the fish before u feed it to the oscar to prevent a new out break also treat ur oscar FOR 20 DAYS
