I know there have been threads on this before, but I cannot locate them. I have not had any success in keeping albino or let alone any catfish in my tank. All other fish live. But, it seems these catfish get that red spot or hole on their bellies. Is that caused by a parasite and what meds can I treat my tank with? Why are not any of my other fish affected? Does the parasite sit in the gravel, hence catfish spend most of their time on the gravel?

Ph 7.0, amonia- clear, nitrates - normal. Plastic plants, bio wheel. 15 gallon up over 1 1/2 years. Some fish are over a year old. Serpaes, Glass Catfish, White Clouds, Fruit Tetras.

But then, I have this Apple Snail that also lives in this tank. How aggressive are these snails? Could they ambush a catfish and eat him alive. Because, this morning my Apple Snail was trying to chow down this poor albino cat. I was just wondering if the snail had anything to do with the cat's demise too?

Thanks to all who respond.
