Red tail cat - bichir

Will my RTC be ok with my Bichirs? I'm trying to decide if I should but them all in a large tank or start a catfish only tank. I know the RTC will need a huge tank or pond. However I'm starting with a larger aquarium. Opinions?

what kind of bichirs? im assuming south american redtail. i would definitely do different tanks.

the species bichir you have right now is one of the smallest averaging around 14" and the rtc is one of the biggest fish I can think of growing to around 4' who are capable of eating fish the same size as it is... also they grow REALLY fast so.... I highly discourage it

Sounds good then. The bichirs will stay in the 46 and the RTC will get my new tank.
