I was wondering how you can sex piranhas? Plus I wanted to ask is, how hard is it to breed them? I want to get some for breeding but need to find out somethings first.

You will have to ask someone else about sexing, but as for the breeding:
See if you can get a group of about 8, maybe even 6 will do. Larger tank is always better for this, maybe about 200g- you could go smaller (perhaps down to 125), but it would help not to. Temp around 83-84, live foods, and make sure the fish are above 7 inches or so. In order to breed, they will need to live together for a significant period of time, somehwere in the range of several months. To enhance your probability of success, frequent water changes are essential. There are no specific water parameters that I have used apart from temperature and standard ph. If you get lucky (or if they do, I suppose), the fry will hatch from a pair and at this point it is essential to remove them from the tank. The parents will be agressive towards you, but you need to get them out.

Paranha are a big tetra, so you will have to separate all the adults from swimming fry or the young will get eaten.
and you won't have two that pair up and make a nest, most likely you will have several contributing eggs and a male maybe two fertilizeing.
No effort to care for young is made by tetra family species, they actually will eat thier own young in a closed space where there are no spaces where the adults can't swim.

This is an unrelated question, but ive always wondered with pirana if you are at danger when you stick your hand in the tank? Ive heard of large cichlids attacking and i wondered if they do to...thanks sorry to interupt this post!
I am very new here and with rbp. I did some research and found that the skinny one are males and the fatter ones are females.
