chili rasbora is their more common name. I have been keeping (and selling) them for a few years now. Great little fish. Not a schooler, more of a loose gather. VERY tiny, smaller than a darf shrimp and very torpedo in shape.

So kind of danio-ish in size and shape then. How come the pics on google of the chili are not the same as the pic above?

no, not really danio-like- much smaller.

I would only assume that a lot of the pics are not alike because there are 5 or 6 boraras species being sold on the market, many of which get mis- id'd. Not to mention that pic is of a well seasoned adult in a perfect environment.

There is boraras brigittae, boraras, uropthalmoides, boraras merah, boraras naevus, boraras maculatas, etc.

Wow! I knew I read there was a bunch of species, but I didn't know there was that many.

So the chili's with proper care should look similar to what I posted. If the wife likes them better than the harlaquin Rasboras, then I will contact you. Thanks for being so helpful, if there is anything else I should know post away! Lol
