Hi friends !

Thanks a lot for the replies and for caring & guiding me... I removed the Wide Jet Pipe and have installed the spray bar such that its about 1" above the water surface. There are about 8 small-fast jets of water sprayed on top of the water surface. Does this sound ok ? I was worried about the flow because the current was looking a little too much for my fish. I found that they all would constantly hide under the rocks and caves etc and as soon as I used to shut down the filter they all woudl come and start swimming gracefully... may be they didnt like the water flow ?

Now, with this setup, I dont think the water flow will be as high as before but what this does is - it makes a lot of splashing-spraying sound on the surface. Just wanted to know if this will spook the fish and again make them hide in the caves ?

Kindly guide me...

Hey Aaron ! Please keep us updated if they breed ok under the water flow conditions. All the best for their breeding though - I hope you'll have lots of wonderful baby fish soon :)

If you add a power head in the bottom front of your tank and an aquaclear 70 on the oppisite side of your spraybar. You would essentially have the same filtration setup as I do on my cichlid tank. My Neo. Pulchers breed like jackrabbits. current dosen't seem to be bothering them at all(kind of with it would make them stop breeding:help:)

the tank looks good Nag, only thing i want to ask you is; Is there much movement on the surface? can you see a current in the water?

i sometimes get what i call a "dead spot" in my tank where i have little surface movement but all debris gets pulled in by the filter as there is an entrance to my juwel filter and top and base of tank and also the external at the base.

Keep it going and the fish do not seem bothered with the flow from the spray bar.

Maybe buy a Tetratec APS 400 and a 14" or bigger bubble wall to help oxygenate your water more, this also seems to give the fish more of a "spring" in their movement. its optional mind you but i wouldnt not have my 22" bubble wall in my tank and if i could i would leave on 24/7.

keep up the good work
