Regular Oil vs. Synthetic Oil

i actually use whatever the manufacters recommend, just check out what the dealers sell and find out who makes it. mobil1 is regarded as being one of the best but i think most of the name brands are good, jut change it before it brakes down. that said the car get castrol dino oil, my parents get mobil1 synthetic and the truck gets the motorcraft blend.

As far as cars go(not much experience with bikess) once you start with a synth, you can't go back to regular. As mentioned, cars with leaks(read old cars) don't do well on it. I would recomend the synth, but keep in mind you shouldn't go back to regular (even when cash is tight and it seems so darn tempting to get the lass expensive stuff)

I think 125gjoe has a Japanese bike. Not the same as your Harleys. The motor and transmission use the same crankcase.
If he is using same kind of oil for motor & transmission, he should check into Amsoil. Lots of people use the 20w50 in the engine, primary & transmission of their Harleys.
