Well, she'll be going to the big tank in the sky very soon. At least it seems that way. Since she doesn't have long, I've been pondering performing a c-section on her. A buddy of mine told me how he did one on a guppy w/ the same labor problems. Of course, the mom died. But all of the fry came out perfectly healthy!!


So,whaddya think?! Should I give it a shot and hope for the best? Other wise I don't think she's ever going to have them.
Any tips/suggestions/feedback appreciated
 
I agree with the royal Queen. Let nature take its course.. there is still a chance for the fry to be born...
 
I had a swordtail that had about 8 fry then jumped out of the tank!

we found her later (it couldn't have been more than 30 mins) put her back into the tank, and she had 40 or so more before the ned of the night, she ended up dying, but the fry are all healthy!
 
I guess it is more work then need be done. Now that I really think about it, those babies are probably long dead!! Still, I am curious as to why she never gave birth....

I dont know the medical terminology for it... but look at HUMANS... there many women that have to undergo "C-sections" for their and their childs survival. So, by breeding fish...you are taking this risk..
