On the front of my tank grows an algae. These little spots adhere well and are not easy to remove. The tank is an Eclipse. The spots came of using a piece of plastic as a scraper. I noticed this process left scratches on the plastic tank. Is there a better way to remove this type of algae without damaging the tank?
Thanks

Most LFS. sell algae cleaners for acrylic tanks. I have a 125 gl acrylic tank and I use a magenetic cleaner made by Mag Float I also have a brush type one with a handle that works well also just make sure it says "for acrylic".

Ditto. I have a small white square sponge that is safe for acrylic. I think it was about 2 bucks? Worth it--I use it on my eclipse with no problems.

Credit card

Although the plastic sponges work pretty well for me on most types of algae on my acrylic I've had to resort to a credit card to get of hard green spot algae.

Best use of the credit card in some time!:D
