Hey guys, I know this is a long shot, but if anyone has one of these they'd like to sell me, I'm looking to buy one. I want to pay about $10 shipped...$6 shipping on a $10 item makes it not so good of a deal. Thank you :)

If you're wanting to repair the Whisper 100 blue dome pump I wouldn't bother. I replaced the diaphragm (same side) several times in a matter of a month, then bought a Whisper AP300. Much better pump, I now have several of them that have been running strong for a couple years w/out any problems.

If a deal doesn't turn up, consider special ordering from your local fish shop. Even if they don't stock Whisper items, they can probably get the kit. Usually their main wholesaler stocks more lines than any individual store stocks. Chain stores probably can't help.

My 2nd suggestion is, I'd be looking for a store brand repair kit that has the same size diaphragms. (bellows) Of course, those are getting harder to find, too.

Good luck.

Yeah, I got this at a yard sale and I can see why they only wanted $2 for it! 'Cause it's broken, lol.

I will try the LFS next, I'm not sure if they can get it in, but they will probably try. None of my LFS have any parts in stock except Whisper impellers and maybe bio-wheels...

Air pumps seem to last a lot longer for me if they are a) held over the water level and b) used to power anything but an airstone. I'm sure if I replaced them as often as I ought to, it wouldn't be a problem, but I let them get really clogged before I actually swap them out. If I just use them to power box filters (the kind that don't need airstones) or sponge filters, they last almost indefinitely.

Thanks, but again the shipping would make the kit almost $16, and I can get this pump for $20 at Walmart.

I'll try the LFS, if they can't order it I might just chuck it. A shame, but that's how it goes...
