restarting cichlids

Hmm, I'm still not sure. But if you feel comfortable then sounds good, they are your fish after all.

Bolivian rams don't require much. A planted tank is the best though.

Any reason why you switched from the blue rams?

im not sure i can keep them healthy plus i read alot about problems with them now(breeders not keeping right and fish dieing only days after ya buyem :()

There is a lot of people who claim blue rams are "fragile" fish. IME that has not been the case. The problems tend to be that most either are not kept in good conditions (can happen with any fish) and/or the way they were farmed. Most stocks come from asia where they are hormoned-up to look more colorful at a younger age, thus more attractive to the buyer. Problem is that the color fades eventually and the practices used weaken the fish's health. However, if you find a local breeder or a LFS with a good reputation they can thrive without special attention. Just my 2 cents.

alright thx jpappy! lord i gotta get those cichlids outa my tank its warzone in there!

Yep you're going to have one or none left very soon if you can't rehome/upgrade.

there being rehomed soon but i have a feeling that only my auratus and kenyi will be left by then. well time to go set-up a temporary tank for my yellow lab and venustus hybrid

actually instead of africans what if i make it a southern american tank? oo :o jack dempseys and all them neat kinds o fish :D then i can put the rams to!

You can have south american fish but not a jack dempsey or similar large aggressive cichlid. You would want the 55 for that set-up.

Rams would be nice, together with some community fish (corydoras, tetras)...or a single Angelfish with the same community fish...or a trio of apistogramma species with the same kind of fish.

o really coler? sweet mabye i wont have to buy a new tank then :D could i mix a pair in my 30 gallon with 2 angels, platy's and tetras? or would that be 2 much?
