I was just wondering if anyone that uses Penguin filters( I have a 200 model has retrofit aquaclear cartridges into it?? I am getting sick of buying all the blue 3 for $15 cartridges. I couldnt figure out how to make them fit.

I dont want to use fiber floss.

Thanks for the help.

filter floss is the cheapest way to go really, it works great. i use sponges and bio rings in few hob filters. whats wrong with polyfill?

How do you put it in there so the water has to move through it and the bio material etc?

i use the polyfill on a few hob filters, just rip some off and shove it the back where the regular filter sleeve would go.if you have the black coarse sleeve that goes in front on the regular carbon filter just shove floss behind it or take it out completly.
i threw my black filter thingy in the trash last year.
the aqua clear filters come with sponge, and bio rings are in a bag. i use them in filters other then aqua clear to just bought some big pieces of sponge for the ac 110 and cut them down to fit in the other filters.

I keep the plastic backing from a cartridge and use it as a divider then I stuff polyfill behind it to keep it off the bio-wheel. The bacteria is in the substrate so I don't worry about it.

I just cut some filter floss to size and stick it in where the cartridges used to go. If you wanna add carbon, you could always just fill up a small media bag with some and throw that in there. I usually put some floss with a purigen packet in mine.

Id like to see a picture if anyone has it. I know there's a lot that i can fit in there but I cant visualize how to place it.

what does that look like inside??? Oh and what do i get polyester polyfill from walmart? I remember my father using that stuff
