dot, one of my gsp, died this morning. shed been doing great and then kinda went off her feed. she ate, but smaller amounts than she had been eating. this morning she was lethargic. then suddenly, she started darting wildly around the tank crashing into stuff. within 5 minutes she was belly up. i euthanized her with clove oil.

her tankmate, spot, is appearing to love having the whole tank to himself. ive never seen him so active and inquisitive.

im really bummed by this. i liked having the pair. well, at least now i dont have to worry about moving him to a bigger tank. the 30 should be just fine for just spot

:( Were the parameters OK? How's the other one? I'd do a WC.

So sorry to hear that, I know how it feels. :(

i did a water change on tuesday. 50%. ammonia, nitrites: 0ppm. nitrates: 20ppm. pH: 8.2. the other puffer loks great. in fact, the other puffer is being a lot more active now that the other puffer is gone. bright white belly and looking at everything like the whole tank is new. i had a hard time getting him to eat last night. he just wanted to buzz around. i had had a small nitrite spike (got up to .25ppm) before the water change. ive been checking parameters daily since the puffers are new and im new to brackish.
