RIP, Gary the Snail

Anna, I'm so sorry for your loss.... I, too, lost my brig Mysty, some time back. I was terribly sad. Jinkz had helped me bring her through a rough time, and she lived on for quite a while, healthy and happy, or so it seemed, but eventually her health declined. I think she had an unhealthy childhood at the lfs. She certainly didn't have snello, or kensfish veggie pellets with extra calcium, though I plied her with just such wonderful provinder during her all too brief life with me.

I must say, that your poetic eulogy was very moving. I'm glad to see that you have taken the loss of Gary very philosophically.

You have moved on....life does that...

Though your mem o ries of Gary remain ever in your heart....
his remains in your tank....:tombstone:

There will be many others that come into your life...
new snailies in your tank....

Lavender and amber strip-ed baubles in the stream
floating on the bubbles.... munching on their greens....

A fairytale fulfillment of every snailie's dream....

Sorry... I couldn't help myself.

ive lost snails b4 and it sucks but life moves on and all things die someday. He was loved in life and even in death is being a friendly and helpful snail. He will definitely go to snail heaven and have all the food and space he could ever want. Long live snails.

Thank you, Mel. That is a very pretty little poem! How is it you always make me feel better? :)

Gary was a beautiful snail. I'm sorry you lost him.

I lost two apple snails in the past three months. No idea why, as usual. Fortunately, I have two large ones working on making up for it. (In fact, I keep checking to see eggs above the water, but so far, nothing.)

One of my apple snails had a great time climbing to the top and 'parasnailing', as you say (which is really cute). But! He would always time it so that there'd be some unsuspecting fish underneath him when he did it. Yeah, yeah, I'm crazy, he was just a snail. But seriously, he'd stay up there for hours until a fish was floating still below him, then dive bomb.

I'm sure there's a river beside the Rainbow Bridge. Maybe my guy will meet your guy there.

I'm truly thankful if I could help you feel better. Keep your chin up, hunni. :)
