Im treating my tank for ich w/ salt and higher temps (82-84). Right now my tank is in front of the window. Normaly this is cool because I live in the woods, but when the leaves are gone in the winter the sun hits the back of my background and raises the temp. My question is during the day my temp is around 84-85. At night the temp drops to around 79-81. Is this going to hurt my fish? Before everyone stones me about the tank infront of the window I know I should move it and will asap, but for now is the temp flux cool? :joke:

Most people say a 3 degree flucuation is to much. I disagree if its slow climb/desent. The way I figure out in the wild water temps drop after a rain or nightfall.
If you were to do a water change and drop the temp 3 degrees quickly it could affect the fish.

Adding window coverings or closing the existing ones will keep the sun and heat off the tank.

It really depends on what kind of fish you have. Some will handle higher temps better than others. The temp fluctuation itself doesn't seem drastic enough to worry about , unless you have fish that are sensitive to high temps.
