hi guys, some of you know Ronnie my Female Crayfish.

the thing is i was doing some maintenance today on there tank and took her out. when i picked her up she was soft??? her back is usually solid. she only molted a week ago and should of hardened up by now. shes been feeding and doing her normal thing's and not been fighting with hubby (reggie). when i put her back in the tank i had some blood on my hand, and it wasnt mine.

nitrates 15ppm
nitrites 0
ammonia 0
ph 7.4

the only thing different i have done is remove all the guppies out of her tank.

any ideas????

Hey, if no one here has an answer for you here. Try crayfishmates.com and make a post for a member named "crusty". He's a crayfish guru, but with this species he raises them on a large scale and knows just about everything that could go wrong, be wrong, etc and how to fix it.

how is she doing? poor thing.

shes doing great acting normal and all that. about to go and have something to eat then am going to check on her again. going to take her out and have another look see.

thanks for asking.

well i took her out, and shes still abbit soft not as soft as the other day tho. a bit lathargik sp) but doing well .

thanks rach.

maybe her mate ate her molt after it came off and she needs some kind of calcium to replace what she would have gotten from that. i dont' know. glad to hear she seems to be doing well (:

no the molts still there, well not all of it anyway. i think its because she has had 3 lots of eggs over the last 12 months and not eaten as much if anything. and its taking a little bit longer to get back to normal. fingers crossed am right.

well ronnie has been doing fine for the last few weeks hardening up and feeding more.......until....

last night she passed on......found her dead this morning

off to do water tests.
