So says this government document.....

Of course, it's not open to the public at this time.

Couldn't enlarge enough...

The first two sentences read, "Thank you for your letter inquiring about UFO's and the July 1947 incident that happened in Roswell New Mexico. After looking into this matter, I have found that the debris from that is still being analyzed and is not open to the public at this time."

Document is dated March 23, 2005

......
LOL
"still being analyzed...." Only the govenment can take this long... :D

Well that is pretty much all the proof I need. :)

Though I must say it surely is a nicely written letter, very polite.

It is funny to get a response!
It goes on telling them to look into a ufo museum and such...
:D

Of course, the goverment only takes that long when the letter is a fake.

Do you know it's fake?

Inquiring minds need to know..

And what exactly would they be looking for?

Assuming they actually have the scraps of a crashed alien spacecraft:
1) Material analysis isn't over with yet, and might never be.
2) Power source analysis is going to be top secret, probably forever.
3) Any reverse-engineering of alien tech will be going on for quite some time, 50+ years is nothing when you're trying to decode the tech secrets of a race at least 100+ more advanced than the one you're part of.

I'm not saying that there actually IS a crashed spacecraft, I'm just saying that technology that far advanced would take some time to figure out if you're accustomed to stone knives and bearskins.

Timmain42,
Nice, in depth answer.

On the Roswell incident; it's interesting to remember such large force of soldiers scrambling and securing the area - just for one downed weather balloon.

Well if they declassified it and let the private sector have a go at it they might get it figured out a whole lot sooner. :D

Maybe handing it over to Bill Gates would speed things up.... or just make him even richer with a Windows that uses alien tech :thud: . That would realy bring another dimension to the X in the Xbox.
