Rosy barb growth rate?

Does anyone have experience with how quickly rosy barbs grow? Specifically, the long-finned variety?
Also, various sites say that rosy barbs grow to an average 4 inches, although some can get up to 6. Does this include the tails?

I don't think it includes the tail. The caudal peduncle though is. I had mine bred in the pond and after a month, I saw two sub-adults at 2 inches size. Growth rate really depends on the conditions they are in. I received a reply from another forum. I still have trouble understanding this one to be honest. The topic discussed was "red glass barbs".

I believe the fish in question is indeed Barbus conchonius, my loach-loving friend. Just a color morph of the ole Rosy Barb, the body clarity the only difference.
Attractive fish, they, though they do reach six inches, necessitating a good-sized tank to keep a proper school of them, which of course negates the problems with aggression.
