I added a few stems of moneywort to my tank about a week and a half ago. It seemed okay at first, but not it seems to be rotting, or melting or something. I don't have a pic, but the leaves and parts of the stems have turned gray and look kind of, well, melted.

Could it just be getting used to my tank? I have DIY co2, and dose Flourish once a week, for now, and 2.4 WPG.

If it is melting, can I save it? Should I trim the really bad parts?

if by "bad parts" you mean the leaves then yes, trim away. all the energy for the plant devoted to growing is being sucked into the dead leaves to try and fix them. what is your temperature? do you have any other plants? do you have an algae problem? do you keep your water clean?

edit: i have moneywort in my tank and it never appeared to have to "adjust" to the new tank. Ive transplanted it twice now, its growing very well. I have it in a 10 gallon with diy co2, dosing excel a 1/4 cap per day, with about 2.2 wpg. temp at ~75

Here's a pic. The only algae is a little hair algae on one of the big swords, but it's confined to 2 or 3 leaves on that plant. I have probably 6 smallish swords, 2 big ones, ludwigia repens, anubia, marimo balls, java moss and a few others that I don't remember what they are- all healthy and doing well. I do 30% PWC weekly. Temp is 79.

When I went to take the picture, I noticed little black dots on the plant- you can see them in the last pic. Any idea what those are?

hmm.. the ones that are transparents are already dead, the roots will just float off and die eventually. they can be removed.

but the rest of them look to be doing fine to me. same as mine when i got them. now ive got water roots 3-4 inches long reaching all the way down to the substrate. the stalks with only leaves melting will probably sprout new stalks from each little "section".

are the good looking stalks healthy? a little algae is ok, just need to learn to balance light period, and c02 to battle it back.

edit: black dots you mean the stringy thing? looks like poo to me.
