My Royal Gramma that I added on Dec 31, is dying. All was great until a few days ago when she hid in some rocks and hasn't come out. So today I moved the rocks and she is lying on her side and breathing very heavily. I filled a 10G tank I had with about 3G from my 29 and about 2G of fresh mixed saltwater. I added some prime, and put an airstone in the tank for some minor circulation. Is there anything else I could do, or is it pretty much the end for the fish?

I also added some Mardel external parasite medication I had.

Hard to say--I'd give her the benefit of the doubt and see if she perks up. Keep doing small water changes, and make sure there's somethng she can hide in (chunks of PVC work great).

I went out and purchased some Melafix, and Pimafix, put that in the tank about 2:00pm. She was still breathing heavy.

She was still alive at 10:00pm.

Still going at 1:00am. Looks like she might make thet night if she's gone this far, hope so.

Woke up checked tank. 3:00am Gramma is no longer breathing :sad . To bad. I wish I had caught this a few days sooner when she first went to hid in the rocks. If I had she would have most likely lived as this would have been day three of medication. Guess you learn from things like this.
