RPG, anyone?

I've been playing MUDs (multi user dungeons) based on Forgotten Realms since about 1991. Haven't played since about 2000, and have no desire to. Long story :)

Anyhow, any FR RPG game is great for me. Loved Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, any AD&D type works for me :)

Anyone played the old King's Quest? Wizardry? Leisure Suit Larry (not the newer ones)? The old old old text based Adventure game that was found on a lot of really old IBM Sys36? "XYZZY!" Nothing happens.

I also love RPG mystery genres. Has anyone played Siberia I and II (loved it!)? Dark Mirror? Still Life (awesome!)?

CIVILIZATION! I have IV here and haven't even installed it yet :( No time atm

I remember Leisure Suit Larry, and I think my kids have a Civilization cd in the box o' stuff to get rid of, lol.
 
My hubby taught me how to play Magic when we were first dating. For about a year we spent every Sunday afternoon at his bosses house with 4-6 other couples having Magic tournaments. Yes, we were SO :cool: !!!

If someone had told me when I was 18 that, in just a few short years, I'd be spending my Sunday afternoons tapping lands to cast demons and spells, I'd have told them they were scary and geeky and to please take their pocket protector and go somewhere else, NOW! :eek:

I started playing D&D in the 3rd grade. I quit during High School because I was too grown up. Then, in College, I grew up enough to realize it was my opinion of myself that mattered, not others, so started playing again because I had so much fun writing, DMing and teaching folks how to play. I still have a group. 3 couples. We let the kids run around and play together (too young still for the game, oldest is only 6).

I've played lots of other games, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (don't laugh, it was a great game!), Farscape, Star Wars (the old WEG version, not the WotC d20 tripe), Marvel Super Heroes (1st edition, not SAGA system), Everquest D20... lots of d20 stuff really.

I also play City of Heroes and City of Villains on the PC. Obviouly there is not as much roleplaying in a graphical game that only rewards experience for combat, but it's still fun to be a super hero and fly around and take down arch-villains!

Oh, we computer people... missunderstood people. Having been in the computing scene for some years, I know what that means.

Whatever, do Video Games count as RPGs? If so, I was quite trapped by the Final Fantasy series thet originally was released on Nintendo's systems in the 80' and 90's. Also, I have been a Zelda fan since I playes the Snes game.

These were my favorite type of video games, and since most of my friends liked sports or action videogames, I never had to lend my precious cartridges to any of them. :thm: :thm:

'Course they do :) I think they count more than card type ones like M:TG and Pokemon do.

That being said my whole family, including my 4 year old, plays Duel Monsters. I've got few very NASTY decks Muahahahhaha! I even went to the regionals in Maryland. I didn't play, but I went and got a Cyber Harpie :)

Yeah video games count. It is the spirit. They just don't let your imagination run as wild as the standard book versions do.

But I still love playing my NES games - Zelda, Final Fantasy and the Dragon Warrior series. I actually just beat good old Dragon Warrior 4.
