This morning my beloved flame angel died. Im still pondering why he died. Tested the water and found no ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate. Temp. was at 76. Salinity at 1.026. Had no heath problems. Eating fine. Maybe he died of old age? Had him for 2 years and I dont know how old he was when I bought him. Also about 2 weeks ago all my 3 snails croaked. So my tank has only a Tomatoe Clownfish and a Blue Damsel. Im looking for another fish and a cleaning crew. All have to reef safe. Can anyone point in the right direction.

First, sorry for your loss. I don't think it was old age as your snails died too. I'm not sure what it was so won't venture a guess. I think it would be best to figure out why your fish and snails died before adding more, other wise you may be posting more"sad times".

I'm not sure if it is a possible cause, but I think 76 is a little cold for a marine tank. I keep mine in the 78 to 80 range.

sorry for the loss, I had 2 flames over 3 years and both were doing fine (eating well/good color/no visible signs of stress) and both suddenly died on me

I think I remember reading somewhere about that with this fish...

beautiful fish though...

I also had a Flame which up and died in my 75 gal tank. The Flame must be a really delicate angel. He ate well and I had him for about 2 yrs.
