hello!

found about 3 egg sacs last night in my tank and was wondering if there was a way to safely relocate them to a different tank?

no specific reason for doing this other than i want to monitor their health and observe their growth as well.

thanks!

yes, you can remove the hard jell'like disk intact and relocate them,
they don't need any special placement considerations in the new tank.

That's an interesting question...

Ramshorns eggs are in a flat, opaque "disk," and I've usually found them on the glass. I found a disk in my 2.5 the other day and I just slid it off the glass with a pair of scissors, as I have enough ramshorns in my little tank. The disk got caught on the filter intake and I left it there.

There are a number of small crawling dots on my glass this am. I'm not sure if they are ramshorns yet, since I did have one pond snail in the tank last week.

My guess is that if you can move the disk intact, the 10 or so eggs in it will hatch. You might want to put it in a plastic breeding trap to facilitate keeping an eye on them.

Edit: I type too slow and others answered first... Looks like you have a consensus, though.

hmm isn't it hard to see the actual eggs until 2 or 3 days later once it's been laid?

if they're in the 'sac', then what could they be? haha... -_-

i would not use tweezers that could crush them, rather a blade that would separate the disk from the glass.
the adhesive is not strong - I've even done it casually with my fingernail, and you can use your fingers to
catch the disk and move it to the other tank, the jell casing will hold the eggs well, just don't pinch hard.
