I don't want to kill the little angels, but I have way too many in my pond... Any way to get most of them out without hurting them?
I would try a food trap, but my koi and goldies take over and always manage to get in... Just picking them out when they come within reach doesn't really work, they breed worse than rabbits...

Massive water change, lowering the water level, and then picking them out?

I have a sort of natural bottom, and with the pond size, I can't reach most of it without climbing in, and the snails like hiding in the soil, I stepped in once and felt a nasty crack... Broke my heart that I killed a snailie.
But I guess I will have to try something along those lines... Or somehow find out a way to make a snails trap that is fish-proof.

How big are teh trapdoors you are tryign to catch? Try using something like a soda bottle with teh top cut off and inverted. Place veggie inside the bottle. Tie a string around it and drop it in the pond.

maybe you could lower the water level to where you can easily see, but enough to suspend you horizontally in the water, then get your bathing suit on and float yourself belly down with goggles on and pick them out and put them in a baggy? that way you wouldn't step on any...but this would definitely be an extreme lol and idk if your pond is heated or not either lol.

rachels advice is a really good idea tho!

Oh I will certainly do that, the neighbors don't think I'm nuts enough already :banhim: lol

They're from pea to adult, Jinkzy..

try the bottle trap, how big are the goldies? You would at least be able to catch juvies and sub-adults in the trap. Works really well.

They range from 2" to about a foot ATM.

I will try a bottle trap though.

bottle trap is your best bet.
