So curious as too if I could keep one on my south american tank its a 100g. The angels are the only thing I'm concerned with so would one salvini be ok with angels?

Although have kept them together in 125 G (6' long) w/o mishaps but wouldnt be best mates imo and also depends on aquascapes and other tankmates. I had mated pair of Salvinii along with other mated Cichlids such as G.steindacneri, Rainbow Cichlids, etc, etc.

No angelfish is anywhere near a match for a Salvini if it ever decides to attack. I wouldn't do it...especially with a male Salvini. A female would be your best bet. Besides, the females have brighter coloration than the males. Though you normally never get to see that unless they're breeding. Gorgeous fish and one of my all time favs.

Angels would not hold up against a Sal if it decides to fight them..

i used to have my salvini in with an angel in a 30gal. before i got my 75gal setup.
the salvini always used to swim along side the angel.
wouldnt do it now that the salvini is much bigger. he has some crazy teeth!
my 2 firemouths and green texas constantly fight. the salvini comes in (like a ref) and brakes the fight up and chasing them all around the tank and then hides again...

my firemouths and texas have torn fins.... the salvini dosnt have 1 split fin on it.

Every Salvini I've ever owned has been mean as hell. I don't think it would be wise to mix the two species.
