San Diego Water Crisis

holy crap! $400 electric bill?! i though mine was bad for jumping from $35-$50 a month to $80. i live in corona though, in a teeny house. my landlords also pay for water, though weve let them know that if it becomes a burden we will pay for water as well.

Wow.. all I can say is I love the PNW.

rains so we don't need to water the lawns till summer.. I fertilize my lawns now with tank water. ;)

lucky for me, even though I live in the middle of the desert in AZ, I have the privilege of using well water. Some of purest water ever I might add, nothing gets added to my water, all natural:) Cheap too since it's on my property!

This is weird, paying for water. I am certianly not used to that here in Vancouver. Probably as the stupid Olympics get closer we will have to though.

I also live in San Diego and I am complaining for my electric bill being $35.00. I don't pay for water since I live in a apartment but I guess it's included in the rent, so my rent might go up. :-(

Sounds like it might be a lot of work. But a couple small 120v solar panels...or make or buy a windmill. just an idea. i know that you can getboth with the amount your paying for your bills. i am workin on making a windmill at the moment. im a renter so i dont have to pay for my utilities but it sounds like a good thing we should all do. you make enough kw, and hook it into the grid the electric company will reimburse you. check it out...

I already have 16 photovoltaic (solar) panels on the house. When the sun is out, they work great! For instance, yesterday was a very sunny day. My system was producing 2000 KW at 300 volts. At that rate of production, I only used 9 KWH yesterday. That's a big difference from 50! Needless to say,if the sun is out my bills are about $30. If it's crappy out, I pay! I guess I should look in to 16 more panels. This would actually allow me to feed the grid and earn credits so when the weather is crap, I can still afford to eat! Haha!

move 2 the country and get a well, cuz well water is free.
